His Excellency, Senator, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, CON, the       immediate past Governor of Delta State, and your Wife, Her Excellency, Dame Edith Okowa;

His Excellency, Deacon Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, the Immediate past Deputy Governor, and Your Wife, Her Excellency, Engr. Mrs. Ebierin Otuaro;

His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan CON, The former Governor of the State, and Your Wife, Her Excellency Mrs. Roli Uduaghan;

Your Excellencies, former Deputy Governors, here present;

Members of The National Assembly and Members Elect;

Speakers of Bayelsa and Edo States Houses of Assembly;

My Lord the Chief Judge;

The Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly and members of the House and Members elect;

My Lord, the President of the Customary Court of Appeal;

The State Chairman and Executives of the PDP;

The Chairman and Members of the State Council of Traditional Rulers;

Respected Members of the Clergy;

Distinguished Deltans;

My Fellow Gubernatorial Candidates here present;

Party Leaders;

My Lords Temporal and Spiritual;

Gentlemen of the Press;

Ladies and Gentlemen

It is my joy and pleasure to commence my tenure with this Praise Night. I commend His Excellency, Senator, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for the wisdom to institute this annual praise programme in celebration of God’s majesty and power.

  1.     Tonight, we have lifted our hands and voices in praise and prayer to Almighty God on behalf of Delta State. By so doing, we have dedicated this administration to the Throne of Grace. Hence, I expect great things to unfold in the coming months and years in accordance with the divine declaration in Psalm 67:5-7. The Psalmist wrote and I quote:

“Let the people praise thee, O God; Let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; And God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; And all the ends of the earth shall fear him. (Psalm 67:5-7).

  1.      God says what He means, and means what He says. He is not a man that He should lie nor the son of man that He should change His mind (Numbers 23:19). As we have praised Him tonight in spirit and in truth (John 4:24), I believe God that it shall be with us as He has promised. The Hand of God shall be upon us and the people of Delta State will have cause to always thank God in the life of this administration. God will surely cause us to reap abundantly from our farm lands, oil wells, fishing waters, and the works of our hands.
  2.    Furthermore, I trust God that His manifold blessings shall overflow in our families, homes, and offices and all the glory will go to Him who is able to do much more than we can ever ask, think, or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).
  3.  In conclusion, I thank all our special guests – Your Excellencies, captains of industry, royal fathers, and top government functionaries – for honouring us with your esteemed presence.  
  4.  I convey my deep gratitude to our Guest Preacher for his insightful message. I pray that the oil of God on your head never runs dry. My appreciation also goes to all the fathers of faith who came to rejoice with us. I celebrate all the music ministers and choirs that ministered today. Thank you for being a blessing.
  5. Finally, I thank you all for making it a date with us. I wish you safe journey and God’s protection as you return to your various destinations.
  6.     God bless Delta State.
