Early Days
Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori was born on 19th of June 1963 to the family of Chief Samuel Oborevwori of Osubi in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.
He completed his basic education at Alegbo Primary School, Effurun in 1977 and later attended Oghareki Grammar School, Oghareki for his secondary education. He obtained a B.Sc. Political Science degree from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma in 2004 and also an M.Sc. Political Science degree from Delta State University, Abraka in 2010.
A Unifier, not a Divider
Rt. Hon. Oborevwori is the kind of Governor a multi-ethnic state like Delta State needs. He is a consensus builder, a pan-Deltan who has forged deep friendships and contacts across the three senatorial districts of Delta State. His down-to-earth personality and accessible nature make it very easy for people to relate with him. He is at home with the rich and the poor, the educated and uneducated, the powerful and the powerless. It is largely due to his humility and the uncanny ability to carry everybody along that he has the distinguished honour of being the first law maker in Delta State to be elected Speaker consecutively.
A Compassionate Leader
With Oborevwori, the people come first. Over the years, Oborevwori has extended various philanthropic gestures to different categories of people. Through his Oborevwori Foundation, he has impacted lives through scholarships to students and provision of various empowerment/entrepreneurial support programmes.
In recognition of his spirit of generosity and contributions to the growth and development of Okpe Kingdom, he was conferred with the traditional title of Ukodo of Okpe by HRM Orhorho 1, Orodje of Okpe Kingdom.
